EV-Box’s upgradable Elvi home charging station

Netherlands-based EV-Box has introduced a new home charging station with a modular, upgradable design. The new Elvi home charger is designed to be easily scalable, making home and condominium sites future-proof.

As EV ranges are increasing, charging power levels are on the way up as well. Designed with the next generation of EVs in mind, Elvi’s power output can be increased up to 22 kW (as long as the customer’s electrical connection can provide the required level of power).

Elvi incorporates smart charging technology such as dynamic load balancing, is ready for interoperable charging cards (roaming), and connects to EV-Box’s cloud-based platform. It will be available in 3 colors with 4 different power outputs (3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW, and 22 kW), and a choice of  4- or 8-meter charging cables.

“No matter what electric vehicle is launched by manufacturers over the next 10 years, Elvi will be fully compatible,” says EV-Box CEO Kristof Vereenooghe. “It can upgrade its power output without having to replace the whole station, and brings a fresh design to attract the new generation of EV drivers that are coming.”

Elvi will go on sale in the European and North American markets this year.
