Circontrol presents master-slave charging solution with power management

At the recent EVS30 exhibition in Stuttgart, Barcelona-based charging station manufacturer Circontrol presented a multiple charging solution consisting of several slave charging points controlled by a single master unit.

The system allows a DC fast charger, such as Circontrol’s Raption, or an AC charger such as the company’s Post eVolve, to act as a master, and several AC chargers to act as slaves.

According to Circontrol, this system minimizes initial investment, because it requires just one smart master unit and several simpler and cheaper slave units. Also, with the master acting as a communications hub, the operator requires only a single 3G contract with a telecom operator. The system also includes a Dynamic Load Management feature that is designed to lower operational costs by avoiding the need for a grid upgrade.
