Ford has announced that buyers of its upcoming Mustang Mach-E will receive a little welcome-to-electric-driving present: 250 kWh of complimentary charging at Electrify America fast charging stations. This amounts to from three to five full charges, depending on battery size.
Mustang Mach-E customers also get two years of free charging at stations participating in the FordPass Charging Network. This includes over 13,500 charging stations belonging to various networks, including Electrify America.
Ford also aims to make home charging easy. The Mach-E comes with a standard Ford Mobile Charger, a portable Level 2 charger. Ford’s Connected Charge Station, a wall-mounted charger, can be ordered together with a vehicle, at prices starting at $799. Installation will be offered through Amazon Home Services.
“One of the main opportunities we have is educating our potential customers about road trip readiness,” said Ford Director of Charging Matt Stover. “The 250 kilowatt-hours of complimentary charging will give our Mustang Mach-E customers confidence in their ability to plan trips, no matter their destination.”
