FedEx Express Canada adds 50 BrightDrop Zevo 600 EVs to its delivery fleet

GM subsidiary BrightDrop has supplied 50 of its Canadian-made Zevo 600 vans to FedEx Express Canada for last-mile delivery service in the Toronto, Montreal and Surrey areas.

These 50 vans are part of an agreement between FedEx and BrightDrop to incorporate 2,500 BrightDrop EVs into FedEx operations in the coming years.

According to FedEx, in support of its goal to convert its parcel pickup and delivery fleet to all-electric by 2040, it plans to expand its charging infrastructure across Canada, which includes 80 stations already installed in the EV launch markets.

“FedEx is a key collaborator in our journey to help reduce carbon emissions for deliveries,” said Steve Hornyak, Chief Commercial Officer at BrightDrop. “As our first customer to deploy Zevos in the US and Canada, FedEx is showing the world how the addition of electric vehicles can help achieve ambitious sustainability goals.”
