British same-day delivery company CitySprint is expanding its EV fleet by adding 40 new electric vans from Maxus, a subsidiary of Chinese automaker SAIC.
The new electric vans have a range of up to 213 miles (344 kilometers) and are deployed across the UK cities in which CitySprint operates, including London, Leeds, Bristol, Manchester, Southampton and Birmingham.
As a result of the acquisition, CitySprint’s EV fleet now comprises 43 electric vans, 24 cargo bikes, 6 electric motorbikes and 4 electric bicycles. The company says it achieved carbon-neutral status last year.
“Our new electric vans will help us to reduce our environmental impact in the cities in which we operate and is a step in the right direction for us to achieve our aim of having a fleet of over 200 zero-emission vehicles across the major cities we work in the next two years,”said Mark Footman, COO at CitySprint.
