California’s Omnitrans orders 18 battery-electric and 4 fuel cell buses from New Flyer

Omnitrans of San Bernardino Valley, which provides public transit services to 15 cities and unincorporated San Bernardino County, has placed orders for 18 battery-electric Xcelsior CHARGE NG buses and 4 fuel cell Xcelsior CHARGE FC models with NFI subsidiary New Flyer of America.

“Since 2000, NFI has delivered 300 buses to Omnitrans, and we are excited to continue supporting their transition to zero-emission mobility,” said Chris Stoddart, President, North American Bus and Coach, NFI.

The 3-door 40-foot battery-electric units include a street-side door for use with center-of-the-road bus rapid transit (BRT) platforms. They will operate on the 19-mile West Valley Connector BRT line designed to serve key locations in western San Bernardino County.
