PXiSE Energy Solutions provides Microgrid Controller to Rove charging centers

US grid controls provider PXiSE Energy Solutions has announced that its patented-technology Microgrid Controller has been selected by Southern California charging center operator Rove to manage power flow at its dozens of planned full-service EV charging centers, which are scheduled to begin opening later in 2023.

The PXiSE controller will manage the point of interconnection with the utility to enable a net-zero emissions export and also manage the facility’s generation capability. It is designed to autonomously manage EV charging for several hours during a power grid outage by making use of a Rove center’s battery storage and on-site solar capacity.

PXiSE President and CEO Tim Allen said, “Our customers recognize that by using PXiSE’s software to unify and automate control of solar PV, batteries and EV charging, they can eliminate a lot of complexity in managing multiple distributed energy resources at a single site.”
