Hyundai releases details of 2020 IONIQ Electric

Hyundai’s 2020 IONIQ Electric will start at $33,045 for the SE model and $38,615 for the Limited model. The automaker has revealed a number of improvements over previous models, including 36 percent more energy storage capacity and 37 percent more driving range .

The 2020 IONIQ Electric offers 170 miles of range, 134 horsepower, and 218 pound-feet of torque. The EV features a 38.3 kWh battery pack and 7.2 kW on-board charger. Using a 100 kW fast-charging station, the new battery can reach an 80 percent charge in as little as 54 minutes, according to the company. Hyundai has partnered with Amazon to offer home chargers and installation.

The following options are also available:

  • Forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection
  • Blind-spot collision-avoidance assist with rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist
  • Highway drive assist
  • 10.25-inch navigation system
  • Harman Kardon premium audio
