XPeng delivers 98,000 EVs in 2021

Chinese EV manufacturer XPeng (NYSE:XPEV) has announced delivery results for December 2021 and the fourth quarter 2021.

XPeng delivered 16,000 Smart EVs in December 2021, exceeding its monthly delivery benchmark of 15,000 units for the second consecutive month despite ongoing supply chain challenges. This represents a 181% increase year-over-year. December deliveries consisted of 7,459 P7 Smart sports sedans, 5,030 P5 Smart family sedans and 3,511 G3 and G3i Smart SUVs.

Total deliveries for the fourth quarter 2021 were 41,751 units, a 222% increase year-over-year.

Total vehicle deliveries for the year reached 98,155—a 263% increase year-over-year. This included 60,569 P7 sedans, 29,721 G3 and G3i SUVs, and 7,865 P5 sedans.

XPeng didn’t break down the deliveries by region, but apparently almost all of them were in China. The company began exports of its G3 SUV to Norway in late 2020. According to CarSalesBase, it sold a few hundred vehicles in Norway in 2021.

XPeng manufactures its Smart EVs in Zhaoqing, Guangdong province. The company currently has 661 branded public charging stations in 228 cities, and 311 physical retail stores in 121 cities in China.
