VIDEO: Jay Leno talks EVs with High Voltage author Jim Motavalli

Talk show host turned automotive pundit Jay Leno talks with Jim Motavalli about his new book.

In this video, talk show host turned automotive pundit Jay Leno talks with Jim Motavalli about his new book, High Voltage: The Fast Track to Plug In the Auto Industry.

Jim Motavalli is the author of several books, and writes blogs for the New York Times and others on environmental issues. The new 272-page book discusses current and coming EVs, battery technology and the smart grid, and makes some predictions about the road ahead.

In the video, Leno calls the new book “a fascinating read,” and asks Motavalli some average-Joe-style questions about EVs. They talk about the past – did you know that New York City had charging stations back in the 1900s? – and the future – Leno wants to see a car that can pull its juice out of the air, and Motavalli assures him that inductive charging is the coming thing.
