Certification and end-to-end testing of EV charging stations (Webinar)

Due to an increase in the adoption of battery electric vehicles, direct current fast charging (DCFC) stations have become a critical emerging topic. An extensive charging infrastructure of these types of DCFC stations can help to eliminate range anxiety and further encourage consumers to transition to battery electric vehicles. As this industry grows, manufacturers need to navigate a complex regulatory landscape of safety standards. Some of these standards include UL 2202, UL 2594, IEC 61851, ISO 15118, and more.

One of the obstacles in the expansion of DCFC stations, as well as higher power charge stations, is the lack of laboratories that can perform the required regulatory evaluations and testing. In 2023, CSA Group made a significant investment into our Cleveland, Ohio facility to build and integrate an advanced DCFC station laboratory. CSA Group partnered with Keysight to create comprehensive end-to-end testing services which included Keysight products such as the Charging Discovery System, AC Emulator, and DC Emulator, along with software solutions to facilitate efficient testing.

This webinar at the Fall Virtual Conference on EV Engineering, presented by CSA Group, will include insights from experts from both CSA Group and Keysight. The webinar will cover:

  • Certification and testing requirements for DC fast charging stations
  • Equipment used to test DC fast charging stations
  • Keysight products and software sourced for CSA Group’s EVSE laboratory
  • Full capabilities of the new CSA Group EV supply equipment (EVSE) laboratory in Cleveland

Armed with this knowledge, EVSE manufacturers will be able to address applicable testing and certification requirements early in the process, streamlining deployments and commissioning.
