Brammo unveils Empulse and Empulse R electric motorcycles in Hollywood

Brammo wrapped up this week’s Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles in style, putting on an elaborate party for a select crowd of buyers and motorcycle insiders to launch its new pair of electric sport bikes. The Empulse R will go on sale this summer at a MSRP of $18,995, and the Empulse will be available early in 2013 at $16,995 (financing is available from Sheffield Financial).

These “wolves in wolves’ clothing” are designed to turn heads and to handle like traditional street bikes. Each boasts a water-cooled AC motor, six-speed transmission, seating for two, regenerative braking and on board J1772 Level 2 charging capability. They feature components from trendy Italian designers, but are designed and built in the USA by Brammo. Top speed is 100 mph, and overall range is about 100 miles.

“It was important to Brammo to create a great motorcycle and we paid attention to customer feedback to create just that,” said CEO Craig Bramsher. “From concept to production the Empulse product has evolved quite a bit. We are bringing you a different motorcycle that promises to be more than what our riders expected.”
