Porsche posed the possibility of producing a smaller sedan to complement the Panamera as it showed the electric Mission E concept at this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Mission E has a 600 hp powertrain with a motor on each axle and an under-the-floor battery pack (yes, like a certain Silicon Valley sedan). It features all-wheel steering and torque vectoring, and Porsche says it will do 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, and estimates its range at 310 miles (on the generous NEDC cycle).

Porsche also says that the Mission E has an 800-Volt charging system – more powerful than any in current production – that can recharge the battery to 80% capacity in 15 minutes.

The body employs steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. Rear-hinged passenger doors eliminate the need for a B pillar.

The Mission E’s futuristic dashboard has a 3D holographic display that allows drivers and passengers to control climate, navigation and infotainment systems using hand gestures.

Porsche plans to decide by the end of the year whether it will put the Mission E into production.
