InnoSwitch3-AQ supports EV designs with expanded 30-1,200 V input range

Power Integrations has expanded its InnoSwitch3-AQ family of devices, which combine a MOSFET, primary and secondary controllers and Fluxlink reinforced isolated feedback into a single IC.

The new family members feature a 900 V primary MOSFET, which is designed for safe and reliable operation during system voltage transients while reducing the number and cost of input filter components. The increased BV rating enables output voltage regulation from 30 V to 700 VBUS in stand-alone form and may be configured for 1,200 VBUS applications when used with optional StackFET circuitry.

Power Integrations says the InnoSwitch3-AQ switcher ICs achieve up to 90% efficiency across the load range, and consume less than 15 mW under no-load conditions. They operate down to 30 VDC, enabling automotive designers to use the part in emergency power supply applications.
