Drivetrain engineering firm hofer powertrain has announced that its new initiative set will reduce electric drive design time by 80% by using AI and Deeptech innovations, allowing for faster time-to-market for automotive customers.
hofer has been utilizing in-house developed AI-driven approaches for some time and now has partnered with Deeptech engineering specialist Monumo. A cambridge-based startup Monumo, has developed a scalable engine called Anser, which can evaluate millions of detailed powertrain concepts within days. hofer powertrain and Monumo aim to use data-driven machine learning approaches to reduce the concept design phase of a new electric drive unit by up to 80%.
“Deeptech innovation has a high potential to revolutionize the automotive sector, and we are looking forward to working together with a visionary startup like Monumo,” said Johann Hofer, CEO at hofer powertrain.
“While much of Generative AI has been used to mimic human behavior, we believe it holds a greater purpose in advancing engineering, especially when applied to global decarbonization efforts,” said Dominic Vergine, CEO and founder at Monumo.
