Turntide releases Gen 5 NMC battery

Electric motor, power electronics and energy storage supplier Turntide Technologies has introduced its Gen 5 nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) modular battery.

The battery delivers high energy density in a low-profile form factor, for flexible, space-saving installation in electric and hybrid vehicle applications in the construction, industrial, AGV, agriculture and military sectors.

The battery comes in 4.5 kWh (100 Ah) or 6.8 kWh (150 Ah) versions and is securely mountable in 3-axis. Up to 18 battery packs in total, and a maximum of 9 in series, can be connected to increase energy storage for custom voltage and capacity. The battery has a lifespan of more than 3,000 cycles with 85% capacity retention, and features an IP66-rated weatherproof aluminum case for protection.

The battery complies with European battery regulations including the CE, UN38.3 and ECE-R100.3 standards that meet international safety requirements. It comes with a separate battery control unit (BCU) for flexibility, ease of installation and serviceability.

“OEMs are under pressure to accelerate the development and deployment of electric vehicles,” said Steve Hornyak, CEO, Turntide. “Our regulation-ready Gen 5 battery is designed for immediate integration, helping OEMs accelerate their path to production in a market that demands safety, transparency and reliability at every stage of the battery lifecycle.”
