GreenCharge allows users to view battery data in real time, and evaluate the environmental and monetary benefits of owning an EV.
Xatori, creators of the PlugShare EV charging network, launched a new iOS app called GreenCharge today. GreenCharge allows users to view battery data in real time, and evaluate the environmental and monetary benefits of owning an EV.
The new app can interface directly with a Nissan LEAF or Chevy Volt, and uses local energy pricing to calculate personalized operating costs. Users can view real-time charging and range information, break down their weekly driving schedule by mileage and price, and even calculate how many pounds of carbon dioxide they’ve spared the planet.
Xatori is a Palo Alto software house that’s run by a Tesla alumnus and several other veteran EV engineers.
“I've talked to too many people who have been confused about the benefits and operating costs of an electric vehicle,” said Xatori CEO Forrest North. “We built GreenCharge to let EV owners understand their cars and educate others on the true environmental and monetary benefits of driving an electric vehicle.”
