Orange EV approved for New York State EV vouchers

Kansas City-based Orange EV, a manufacturer of heavy-duty electric trucks, has announced that fleets in the state of New York are now eligible for discounts of up to $150,000 on Orange’s T-Series electric terminal truck through the New York State Electric Vehicle Voucher Incentive Fund. Fleet customers receive a discount at the point of sale from Orange EV, and they have a little under a year to complete deployment of funded trucks.

Purchase incentives for fleet buyers are also available in Chicago and California.

Orange EV electric terminal trucks are currently operating up to 24 hours per charge in applications including railroad inter-modal, LTL freight, manufacturing, retail distribution, waste management and warehouse container handling facilities.

Orange EV says that fleets operating its trucks under moderate conditions can expect fuel and maintenance savings of $10,000-$30,000 per truck per year; heavier use can generate savings of $30,000-$60,000.

“It’s another great win for both public and commercial fleet managers needing to upgrade from diesel to electric,” said Mike Saxton, Orange EV Chief Commercial Officer. “For each of the nation’s top three commercial regions – New York state, Chicago and California – fleet managers can deploy Orange EV electric trucks while paying about half the price. Fleets taking advantage of the discounts avoid the financial and operational burden of Tier 4 diesel emission systems while saving up to 90% in fuel, and more in a broad range of other areas.”
