Zero Motorcycles has unveiled its 2012 model line, featuring a completely new powertrain that gives its electric cycles vastly improved speed, range and battery life. The new Z-Force™ power pack is capable of 3,000 charge cycles before it reaches 80% capacity, which means it should be good for over 300,000 miles – more than even a Sunday-riding grandmother can expect to get out of any motorcycle, gas or electric.

The new powerhouse gives Zero’s two-wheeled terrors top speeds of up to 88 mph and a range of as much as 114 miles on a charge. The new line of bikes, which includes the Zero S “street fighter,” Zero X trail bike and Zero MX motocross machine, will ship in February 2012.

“The 2012 model line is truly game changing. It marks the first time in history that riders can actually own an electric motorcycle that is capable of exceeding 100 miles of range on a single charge,” said Scot Harden, VP of Global Marketing of Zero Motorcycles. “Every model in the lineup goes faster, further and is more fun than ever before. These are not concepts. In less than three months, riders can see and purchase 2012 models at authorized Zero Motorcycles dealers.”
