One last chance to buy a Tesla Roadster

The company announced yesterday that the final version of the Roadster is now available with several new features, but only in Europe, Asia and Australia, while they last.

In December, the historic Tesla Roadster took its final bows, as the last of a total production run of 2,600 rolled off the line. According to Tesla, they’ve sold 2,100, so about 500 of the Lotus-based electric two-seaters need to get out of the way and make room for the new Model S, which begins deliveries in mid-2012.

The company announced yesterday that the final version of the Roadster is now available with several new features, but only in Europe, Asia and Australia, while they last. New options and enhancements include some sporty new colors, a rear snow cover, improved air conditioning, xenon headlamps, enhanced front windscreen seals and two new types of mobile connectors for charging in Europe and Japan.

"The Tesla Roadster is the first and only of its kind: an electric sports car with exhilarating performance, zero emissions and gorgeous looks," said Tesla VP Ricardo Reyes. "This latest version embodies Tesla's commitment to constant improvement. These Roadsters are our best ever."
