Dongfeng Nissan, a joint venture between the Japanese automaker and a Chinese partner, unveiled a concept EV at the Beijing Motor Show this week that it says it plans to build in China under the new Venucia brand by 2015. Nissan head Carlos Ghosn first announced the company’s plans to build a Chinese EV last year.
The inscrutable Asians have released no details on the new model. Autoblog notes that Venucia’s imaginatively-named “e-concept” looks almost exactly like the LEAF, except for the wheels and front fascia. China Car Times reported that it’s a little bit longer than the LEAF, and five kilograms heavier.
