Hitachi Astemo to provide JATCO with inverters and motors for future Nissan EVs and PHEVs

Hitachi Astemo will provide inverters and motors to Tier 1 supplier JATCO, which in turn will supply e-axles to Nissan for future EVs and e-POWER plug-in hybrids.

Hitachi Astemo aims to expand sales of its electric axles to automakers, and also plans to supply motors and inverters for electric axles assembled by vehicle and gearbox manufacturers.

Hitachi Astemo was formed by the 2021 merger of Hitachi Automotive Systems with Keihin, Showa, and Nissin Kogyo. The company plans to invest some 300 billion yen (about $2 billion) in vehicle electrification, including R&D, by 2025, and to double EV-related sales revenue by 2030.

Hitachi Astemo also plans to continue developing more efficient ICEs, as well as emission-reduction systems.
