FTA to offer $85 million in funding for low emission buses

The U.S. Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced the Low or No Emission (Low-No) Bus Program, a funding opportunity for recipients to purchase electric and low-emission buses. The program has $85 million in competitive grant funds available for public transit agencies, state transportation departments, and tribes.

Program applicants will be evaluated based on their need, their project’s benefits, their implementation strategy, and their capacity to implement the project. The deadline for applications is May 14, 2019.

“U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao and the U.S. Department of Transportation are committed to improving safety, rebuilding our transportation infrastructure, and preparing for the future with new technologies,” said FTA Acting Administrator K. Jane Williams. “The Low-No Program supports these priorities.”
