Calex launches new 1,000-watt DC-DC converter

Calex Manufacturing has launched the 24S53.19FXW DC-DC converter, the final product in the company’s FXW series of DC-DC converters. The new converter features a power density of 181 W/in³ over a 9-36 VDC input range. The 1,000-watt converter measures 2.5 x 4.7 x 0.52 inches.

In a bid to optimize performance, Calex has equipped the converter with digitally controlled synchronous rectification technology and thermal case construction. The device operates with a fixed frequency of 200 kHz and a temperature range of -40⁰ to +105⁰ C. The converter can deliver full output power at up to 90⁰ C without derating.

The 1,000-watt FXW series features:

  • 4:1 input voltage range
  • Output voltages of 12, 24, 28, 48, and 53 VDC
  • Remote on/off
  • TRIM that allows output voltage to be adjusted from +10 percent to -40 percent
