BMW will officially reveal its new i3 on Monday at press events in New York, London and Beijing. This 5-door electric sedan should shake up the market a bit – it’s the first EV from a European luxury brand to go on sale in the US, and, with an MSRP of $41,350, it fills a space between the LEAF and the Model S.

The company has released a video that should ramp up the excitement level (at least for visually-oriented buyers – it includes no specs or details of features). The teaser video has some cool glamor shots and sequences of the i3 smoothly slicing down a rain-slick test track. Those with sharp eyes will notice a unique feature – apparently the i3 can change colors while cruising at highway speeds.
