Kraft Heinz adopts electric terminal trucks at Ohio distribution center

Food company Kraft Heinz has replaced five diesel terminal trucks with EVs at its distribution centre in Groveport, Ohio. The Orange EV T-Series electric terminal trucks will be operated by Firefly Transportation Services.

“This decision by Kraft Heinz demonstrates thoughtful mitigation of the extremely high operational, economic, and environmental costs of using diesel trucks,” said Orange EV’s Mike Saxton. “With this deployment, Kraft Heinz becomes the first site in Ohio to fully commit to pure electric in their heavy duty, Class 8 terminal truck fleet.”

Kraft Heinz will maintain a single diesel terminal truck at the Groveport distribution center, which the company expects will not be used in routine operations.
