Electric boat manufacturer RAND Boats has launched a new propulsion package for its Leisure 28 Electric model. The new Leisure 28 Electric stern drive propulsion package features a 240 kW engine and modular Li battery pack with a capacity of 80-120 kWh, allowing for a top speed of more than 40 knots (+72 km/h) and up to two hours of planing speed range, according to the company.
The first new Leisure 28 Electrics are scheduled for delivery in spring 2020. The new propulsion system will also be available in the company’s other 24-foot and longer models, as well as the company’s pipeline models scheduled for launch in 2020 and 2021.
