Porsche and Frauscher introduce the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom sports boat

German automaker Porsche and Austrian boat builder Frauscher Shipyard have debuted, in a limited first edition of 25 units, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom runabout sports boat featuring a closed foredeck and cabin.

The boat is equipped with the same electric drive unit from the Porsche Macan Turbo sports car that powers the previously-introduced 850 Fantom Air open day cruiser.

The 400 kW motor, housed in the hull of the boat, is controlled via a Z-drive and powered by a battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh. The maximum speed in Sport Plus mode is approximately 90 km/h. The range for slow driving is approximately 100 km, and the cruising speed range at 41 km/h is approximately 45 km.

The control units are housed in a waterproof box. The motor’s efficiency is optimized by power electronics and the use of silicon carbide in the pulse inverter, which enables high switching frequencies.

The new model, like its predecessor, is 8.67 meters long and 2.49 meters wide. It accommodates up to seven passengers and features a cabin under the bow and a center helm with seating and lounging options on the bow.

“As an elegant day cruiser with a powerful drive system, she sets new standards in the maritime world. We are continuing along this path together with Frauscher and the new 850 Fantom,” said Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Board Member for Finance and IT at Porsche.
