ATM Milano, the transit operator of Milan, Italy, has announced that it will phase out diesel buses by 2030 and use €194 million (around $216 million) to purchase up to 250 electric buses, beginning with 40 from Solaris. Delivery is scheduled to begin in June 2020.
ATM Milano has selected Solaris’s Urbino 12 model. The 12-meter, 240 kWh buses have space for 26 seated passengers and a total capacity of 82 people, according to Solaris.
ATM Milano currently has 25 electric Solaris buses in operation.
