Hyundai fuel cell trucks won’t be using green hydrogen after all

Governments around the world are dedicating taxpayer money to hydrogen projects, and these are invariably presented as using green hydrogen (produced by electrolysis using renewable energy). Hydrogen detractors often warn that, once these projects are funded, green hydrogen, which isn’t yet available at any scale, will prove impractical, and boosters will quietly switch to grey… Read more »

ONE’s hybrid battery pack combines the best aspects of two chemistries to deliver 600 miles of EV range

Q&A with ONE CTO Dr. Steven Kaye. There is a wide range of characteristics that describe the performance of any given battery chemistry: energy density, specific energy, specific power, discharge efficiency, self-discharge rate, cycle life, calendar life, and—not the least important—cost.  Some types of Li-ion chemistries are really good in a few characteristics but fall… Read more »

Curtiss-Wright introduces latest generation of its traction inverters for commercial EVs and hybrids

Sensor, control and subsystem company Curtiss-Wright has introduced the second generation of its traction inverters, which are designed for on-highway and off-highway commercial EVs and hybrids.
