In this session, Volvo Penta’s Zeyd Okutan will discuss the company’s electric driveline solutions and the strategic approach it has chosen to electrify the non-highway segment connected to its long experience in diesel engines.

Working together with its customers, Volvo Penta leverages the knowledge and proven technology of the entire Volvo Group to move towards an electric-powered future to help its customers take the next step towards truly sustainable systems and solutions. To meet both customers’ needs and requirements as well as the demands of the industry’s future, its work with electromobility is based on full-system solutions. This modular approach is built on close collaboration – partnering with customers, evaluating the specific challenges at hand to develop a perfect fit for each project.

Zeyd Okutan is a Product Manager dedicated to the field of electromobility for non-highway applications, managing the electric driveline product portfolio for Volvo Penta, and starting up customer projects since 2019. Zeyd holds a mechanical engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University and a master´s degree in automotive engineering from Turin Polytechnic University. Beginning of his career in Italy, Zeyd was appointed as production quality specialist and later as sales manager at FPT Industrial. After working 7 years in the field of diesel engines, he moved to Volvo Penta to shift his development versus new technologies and electromobility.
