New CSM connectors allow easier handling for high-voltage testing

CSM has released C (Connector) variants of its High-voltage Breakout Modules (HV BM) for measuring current, voltage and power. The C variant connection is designed to facilitate handling, reduce measurement setup time, and easily unplug for calibration. The new HV Breakout Module 1.2C is connected to the HV power cables via a PL500 connector system… Read more »

Optimize EV Testing with the Vector CSM E-Mobility Measurement System

This presentation will show the audience the streamlined and integrated innovations from Vector and CSM for a complete eMobility measurement system, including measurement, recording, and real-time analysis of currents, voltages, temperatures, pressures, torques, ECU data and vehicle busses. The system is easily scalable to your testing requirements. The proper selection of hardware and software can… Read more »

Optimizing EV Powertrain Test Instrumentation and Improving Measurement Results

This presentation will demonstrate how test instrumentation of electric vehicle powertrains has been simplified while improving accuracy with innovative new measurement technology from CSM. The challenges associated with instrumenting test benches and electric vehicles are numerous, and are primarily associated with safely measuring current and voltage at many points throughout the high-voltage powertrain—such as between… Read more »

How to improve battery testing efficiency and scalability

The battery pack is the single most costly EV component and has the largest impact on design and performance (size, weight, acceleration, range, charge time, and vehicle life). Join this session next week at the Charged Virtual Conference on EV Engineering, presented by NI and EA Elektro-Automatik, to learn how integrating EA Elektro-Automatik’s bidirectional, regenerative… Read more »

EV battery testing: Increase lab efficiency and minimize total cost of ownership

OEMs, battery designers and manufacturers, as well as test facilities, face increasing challenges in battery development, testing, and validation. Due to a growing number of devices under test (DUT), test laboratories for cells, modules or packs are becoming larger and more complex. There are many levers to increase efficiency and thus to minimize total cost… Read more »

Swiss city of Basel orders 62 electric buses from Mercedes and Hess

The city of Basel, located on the Rhine at the confluence of Switzerland, Germany and France, plans to fully electrify its bus routes, and power them with 100% renewable energy, by 2027. Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB)’s fleet currently includes 115 buses serving 14 routes (there are also 135 trams serving 9 lines). The city’s latest tender… Read more »
