Join this presentation to learn about a new comprehensive and modular reference design of a 350kW/850V silicon carbide (SiC) inverter for electric motor control. This reference design is the result of a partnership between Silicon Mobility and CISSOID. It is a unique alternative solution to the current offerings available on the market as it avoids the burden of designing a complete inverter from scratch and the limitation of a constraining black-box off-the-shelf inverter.

At the core of this reference design is the combination of Silicon Mobility's OLEA FPCU T222 control chip and OLEA APP INVERTER control software with CISSOID's SiC-based intelligent power module and gate driver board.

This SiC inverter reference design is the perfect solution for those seeking to accelerate their design process through customization with high efficiency, reliability, and compactness. It also optionally includes the DC and phase current sensors, the DC link capacitor, an EMI filtering, and an integrated liquid cooling for efficient thermal management. The result is a comprehensive design approach that simplifies the development process and reduces time-to-market.

Silicon Mobility's OLEA FPCU T222 chip embedding the OLEA APP INVERTER software provides advanced motor control algorithms and real-time system monitoring to optimize the performance of the SiC inverter and motor efficiency. Synchronous current control loop (Field Oriented Control) and modulations (frequency scaling SVPWM and DPWM) up to 100kHz are included with the support for a large variety of position sensors. The chip and software are ISO 26262 certified for maximum safety.

The modularity and customization of the reference design are also supported through a business model adapted for evaluation and proof of concept to low/medium volume production. Through their partnership, Silicon Mobility and CISSOID also provide tailored technical, system calibration and integration support.
