Protecting our environment is more important now than ever before, and lithium batteries have become an important part of improving sustainability. Lithium batteries can help us to rely on more sustainable energy sources, but to manufacture them takes a lot of care and attention. Lithium is a sensitive element, and we know that to work with it, and engineer the best possible batteries, we need to keep humidity at the absolute minimum. Desiccant dehumidification is the most efficient technology for providing the ultra-low dew point conditions required in the dry rooms needed for lithium battery manufacturing. Most manufacturers need their dry rooms maintained at a dew point of -40°C (-40°F) or lower (i.e., less than 1% relative humidity). Maintaining dry rooms at the right humidity and temperature involves a significant amount of energy. Special purge configurations such as Munters Green PowerPurge technology can provide the required dew points and can save up to 30% on annual dry room dehumidification costs.

In the session, we'll learn about the key aspects of designing a dry room and optimizing energy usage for your dry room climate control.
