Fully Automated Battery Manufacturing: Development Of Flexible, High Throughput Line Using Advanced Conveyance/Motion Control, Precision Web Handling, And Assembly

Presented by:

  • Mark Ziencina, Sales Manager (Western Region), Bosch Rexroth

  • Martin Bamberger, Senior Staff Engineer, DWFritz Automation

Apr 21, 2021, 11:45 am EDT

In this session, experts from DWFritz Automation and Bosch Rexroth will discuss the development of a fully automated and high-throughput battery manufacturing line that uses advanced technology from Bosch Rexroth.

The production process requires precise web tension, loop, and speed control; as well as precise and fast motion control for laser trimming, cutting, and stacking of the cell. The line uses custom software, high-speed material handling, conveyors, and magnetically-driven flexible transport systems to move cells across process steps with speed and accuracy.
