In this session, we will explore bonding and assembly sciences for electric vehicles and the diversification of the bonding continuum with speakers Joey Benson and Susanne Rieder-Otterburg.

Joey Benson is an Application Engineer at 3M supporting adhesives and the electrical vehicles market. Joey works with key players in automotive electrification to implement adhesive solutions into their designs. FEA modeling adhesive joints is another area of interest, which enables manufactures to optimize their joint design and streamline the development process. Joey has a bachelor’s degree in Physics from St. John’s University (MN) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Susanne Rieder-Otterburg started at 3M in 1986 as a bonding specialist in Application Engineering for the Auto Electrification Segment, and is now responsible for the development of new application and solutions in the Auto E Battery Segment throughout Europe. Susanne has held roles at 3M in R&D, Product Engineering, and Application Engineering functions around 3M’s adhesive and tape bonding solutions for diverse industries, including Appliances, Automobile, and many more.
