In this session, we will review the trends affecting the design of traction inverters, the challenges imposed by the migration towards higher bus voltages, and the need to meet ISO26262 “functional safety”. The changes required to support high-voltage SiC MOSFET switching modules will also be examined.

New IC solutions that enable effective and efficient isolated gate drivers and power supplies will be presented. We will also discuss how technologies such as AROC are being used to create safe, cost-effective and reliable propulsion inverters.
