EVs revolve around efficiently converting electrical power into usable forms. Low voltage systems, like body electronics and infotainment, rely on DC-DC converters to step down the high voltage battery input, traction inverters require the high voltage from the battery to be transformed into mechanical motion, and battery chargers ensure incoming power can be safely stored by the battery. At the heart of all these power conversion systems is the gate driver, quietly ensuring the power devices switch safely, reliably, and with maximum efficiency.

In this session, we will discuss how to select the right gate driver for a high voltage system and walk through an example half-bridge configuration.
