Fastned, a Dutch operator of EV charging stations, has chosen Switzerland-based ABB to build an extensive network of fast chargers in the Netherlands. It is by far the largest fast-charging network in Europe, and the largest single project of its kind in the world.
Initial shipments will support the CHAdeMO fast-charging standard, and SAE/Combined Charging System units will be available later this year.
The new multi-standard functionality will be available in Europe in the second quarter of 2013, and in the USA in the second half of the year.
