Cementex introduces double-insulated pliers and torque tools

When working on battery packs or other electrical systems, dropping a metal tool in the wrong spot could be extremely dangerous. That’s why double-insulated 1,000 V safety tools from Cementex come in handy, keeping workers safe and meeting OSHA safety standards.

The company’s new torque wrenches and torque screwdrivers are designed for installation applications where a required torque is indicated. Cementex torque wrenches provide a simple, fast indication of micrometer-accurate torque settings, and feature a low-friction torque control mechanism designed to produce accurate readings in either direction. Two calibration adjustments permit precise torque settings.

The wrenches’ spring-loaded or twist-locking collar keeps the scale on the desired reading and remains in a locked position, making accidental unlocking impossible. Dual-scale wrench models offer readings in Newton-meters and inch-pounds or foot-pounds. Reversible ratchet models feature a quick-shift lever to allow single-handed shifting.

Cementex torque screwdrivers feature a precision micrometer scale calibrated in inch-pounds. They feature easy-release bit holders designed to securely retain bits during operation while permitting easy removal.

Also available are double-insulated 9-inch Universal Pliers, designed for safe use in Arc Flash environments. These pliers are heat-treated and feature a compact head with serrated jaws, as well as a high-leverage design for greater cutting and gripping power. Their bypass cutting blades are designed for cutting round cable up to 9.2 mm or soft steel wire up to 2 mm.

Cementex 9-inch Universal Pliers are capable of crimping non-insulated terminals, and are tested to 10,000 VAC and rated for 1,000 VAC when working on or around live parts.
