US-headquartered Bridgestone Americas has debuted its first dedicated EV replacement tire, targeting Tesla models 3, S, X and Y, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Thirteen additional sizes will be available in 2024.
According to the company, its proprietary ENLITEN technology improves the all-season performance and wear life of the Turanza EV Grand Touring Tire and allows for use of recycled materials in its production. Bridgestone also says that inclusion of its PeakLife polymer increases wear resistance.
“With the accelerated progress toward an electrified vehicle fleet, we’re thrilled to launch a tire that is designed to help drivers get the best overall experience from their electric vehicles,” said Bridgestone Americas President Riccardo Cichi.
The tires are manufactured at Bridgestone facilities in North Carolina and Mexico.
