Power electronics company Digatron has entered into a strategic partnership with battery assessment and diagnosis technology firm Safion. Digatron says it will rely on its established network to support growth in Safion’s global sales, and will integrate its products with Safion’s. Current Safion customers include automakers, aviation firms, consumer electronics companies, cell manufacturers and research institutions.
Digatron battery cyclers are used in some of Safion’s testing products. The two German companies plan to remove barriers between theirproducts.
Digatron supplies equipment for the production, testing and development of batteries and storage systems. Safion provides technologies that assess the performance, lifetime, and safety of prototype and commercial lithium-ion batteries that can stand alone or integrate with a production line. Based on more than 10 years of interdisciplinary research at RWTH Aachen University, Digatron says Safion’s core technology “precisely evaluates lithium-ion batteries within a few seconds.”
