With the move towards electrification, vehicles are seeing increased weight loads due to battery packs and rapid high torque loads in electric motors. Moreover, there has become more electrified design variants for a like model (i.e. both a hybrid and ICE option). This trend brings unique design and manufacturing challenges to safely withstand and transmit the high loads of an electric powertrain, while minimizing design variants and complexity.

The technology behind a friction enhancement material solution will be presented as well as ways in which it can be used to overcome these challenges in and around electric powertrain assemblies.
